Norfolk Council
for Voluntary Youth Services is a long established, independent
registered charity that acts as a network for over 120
voluntary youth organisations operating within the county
of Norfolk, England. We offer a range of services to voluntary sector youth groups, for more
information please see ‘What we do’.
The Objectives of the Council
The objects of the Council shall be for any charitable purpose for the benefit of the public in Norfolk, particularly for the benefit of those young members of the public up to the age of 25 years, by associating the voluntary organisations, institutions and member organisations of the Council in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of such young members of the public so that they may grow to full maturity as responsible individuals and as members of society.
Our Services Include:
Managing a grant aid programme
on behalf of the County Council for voluntary youth
organisations in its membership.
Managing and facilitating a training
programme which includes 1st aid, food hygiene dealing with conflict,
risk assessment and bereavement. In addition we can signpost you to
other specialist training providers.
A series of networking events,
held around the county, where anyone from a member
organisation can come along to share good practice
with colleagues and hear about local, regional
and national issues that affect voluntary youth work.
Providing links through local,
regional and national networks to government.
Providing information and resources
on a range of issues to support adult teams of volunteers
in youth groups.
Engaging with a number of strategic partners
in developing opportunities for young people on a regional and
national level, which will contribute to the personal and social
development of young people in Norfolk.
Supporting organisations in staff development
through training and an information sharing process that links to
national and regional strategies.
